Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Podere San Lorenzo offers its clients the possibility to follow and participate in the phases of harvesting and processing of our olives, in order to then taste the result together: an excellent extra virgin olive oil. In fact, at the end of October we begin the harvesting, performed by hand, of the olives from over one thousand trees that surround the agriturismo structure. The olives are transported in crates to the oil mill where the oil is extracted through cold pressing. The cultivation of our olives follows the old Tuscan olive-gathering tradition, with the complete exclusion of chemical products. All this guarantees an excellent extra virgin olive oil. At the contest "Liscio come l'olio" by Volterragusto, our olive oil was valued among the best in the category "Light Fruity".
Pairing: the best way to taste this olive oil is uncooked above a piece of toasted bread, bruschetta, or accompanying salads, as well as all kinds of vegetables, especially if grilled or steamed. It is excellent over a light pasta or to dress main dishes of meat at the end of cooking.
